The article “Animals – Humans – Accessories: Exotic Snap-Shots from around the world” is published in German.

Indigenous people in America are often generally associated with feathers as other ethnic groups with other animals and materials. It is important to be conscious about such stereotype notions in order to be able to really understand the relationship between humans and animals in different cultures. The aim of this article is to reveal surprising connections that provoke thinking about our own stereotype notions concerning animals and humans.

What would “the Indian” be without feathers? How do certain ideas develop? What are porcupine-bristle, peacock-quill, fish-leather and African animals doing in Germany? What does a dog need a felted igloo for?
